TODAY
* These are our 3 calendar sentences:
1. Yesterday was Monday, April 4, 2010.
2. Today is Tuesday, April 5, 2010.
3. Tomorrow will be Wednesday, April 6, 2010.
We can write today's date like this: 4/5/10.
* We read Fish Mix and How Many Fish?.
* We reviewed -ick (Rick, sick, quick) and -ish (fish, swish, wish).
* We worked on our spelling words and sorted them by words by those that end in -y and those that do not end in -y.
* We reviewed these letters from Phonics Level K unit 1: Ss, Tt, Bb, Hh, Mm, Kk, Jj, Ff and Gg.
* We read the poem Always Be Kind to Animals by John Gardner. These are the words:
Always Be Kind to Animals
Always be kind to animals,
Morning, noon, and night;
For animals have feelings too,
And furthermore, they bite.
We also had a class discussion about the question "What is your favorite animal?" and we answered this question using the sentence "My favorite animal is a...".
* We continued working on singular (1) and plural (more than 1) with these words:

CDs
video game
video games
cell phone
cell phones
computer
computers
We practiced making sentences using these words.
* We completed these pages:
Phonics Level K pages 83 and 84
Let's Go 1 Workbook page 23
HOMEWORK
* Read the 3 calendar sentences above.
* Read Fish Mix (posted last week) and How Many Fish? (posted this Sunday).
* Read and spell the -ick and -ish words above.
* Complete the spelling words homework paper I am sending home and return it to school tomorrow in your backpack envelope. Our spelling test will be Thursday!
* I am sending home Phonics Level K pages 83/84. Please keep it at home and read Always be Kind to Animals on page 83 and read the home letter on page 84.
* Read and spell the singular and plural words above and say sentences with each word.
